The Yard Driver is primarily responsible for the accurate and efficient movement of inbound and outbound freight. Duties include safely and accurately backing, pull spotting, and shifting tractor-trailer rigs.
This position works Monday through Friday 9am - 5:30pm with mandatory overtime as business need dictates.

*Safely operate yard truck and maneuver equipment in and around tight corners, through staging areas, and around pedestrian traffic in a safe manner.- *Connect/disconnect trailer/container, operate trailer landing gear, and open trailer doors.
- *Review and comprehend Shi Via and set-up reports
- *Operate air-over hydraulic fifth-wheel front trailer support system.
- *Performs routine inspection on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to the supervisor; cleans equipment.
- *Properly follows company and OSHA safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to read, write, operate RF device, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data as required.
- Brings problems to the attention of the supervisor, manager, safety director or HR manager.
- Follows daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
- All other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without accommodation.
Required to stand (stationary position) during scheduled hours. Hours usually include weekends, evenings and holidays in conjunction with labor regulations.- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate using various methods.
- Kneeling, stooping, using stairs, reaching, pulling and moving weights of 0-25 pounds constantly and 25-40 pounds occasionally and over 40 pounds seldomly with or without assistance as needed.
- Ability to move up to 40 pounds at least 25 feet in distance occasionally with assistance as needed.
- Based on business necessity associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations that require different physical demands.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED- Minimum of 1 year previous driving experience highly preferred.
- Commercial Driver’s License preferred
- Minimum of year experience using air brake systems
Base rate paid bi-weekly: $17.45/hr
- Earn $0.25 wage increases following the completion of 90 days, 6 months, 12 months, and 18 months of service, totaling up to $1.00/hr on top of the base rate.
