Overview:
First Citizens Bank is seeking a Wire Transfer Specialist to support our business unit in a Hybrid role out of our Raleigh office. This position processes client and internal department wire transfer transactions for the Bank. The Wire Transfer Specialist will be responsible for utilizing an automated wire transfer system to ensure all wires are processed in an accurate, timely, and compliant fashion.
Responsibilities:
  • Documents each transaction and identifies suspicious activity in accordance with the Bank's security procedures.
  • Answers inquiries, resolves wire-related issues, and performs other support duties in order to facilitate client servicing and production goals.
Other related duties:
  • Processing - Processes incoming and outgoing wire transfer funds and securities in a high volume, time-sensitive environment with emphasis on accuracy and production. Processes wire transfer transactions originated from clients, internal bank sources, and other financial institutions.
  • Business Support - Performs support tasks that occur during branch, department, and client inquiries. Serves as an initial point of contact for wire-related requests or issues received via phone or email.
  • Compliance - Ensures that all wire transfers are processed and transactions are in compliance with federal regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) law, and the US Department of Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) laws. Follows the appropriate security procedures during client call backs, proper holds, credit line approvals, and other activities that involve some level of potential risk.
  • Transfer Security - Monitors queues for possible OFAC violations, suspicious deposits, and other unusual activity or keying errors. Informs management of any identified suspicious activity to ensure immediate action.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • At least Two (2) years of experience in Banking or Financial services
  • Wire Transfer Systems preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentially
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and general office equipment
  • Dependable in meeting regular attendance requirements and schedules established for the department
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Must be willing to work Monday - Friday 10am - 7pm EST
