Opportunity

Under the direction of the Staff Analyst – Maintenance & Tool Room, KPS, the function of the Supervisor Maintenance is to provide the supervision and leadership of the skilled trades associates in the Power Systems group. Which includes, providing maintenance services to the Mosel plant in a safe, professional, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This position is also responsible for coordinating with leadership of skilled trades associates from other departments in Power Systems and Campus Maintenance as needed. This position is on 1st shift salaried during the week and may require time before/after shift and weekend work to support production as needed.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assign and direct the daily activities of a of skilled trades associates in Mosel Maintenance to complete a weekly schedule and daily reactive work. Maintain on-time and on-cost delivery through prioritization of reactive work, utilization of available resources and use of partner contractors.
  • Direct and support skilled trades associates from other departments in Power Systems and Campus Maintenance when other supervision is not present. This includes audits of progress and quality of work for all work performed.
  • Audit completed work orders for accuracy (notes, PM, confirmation, time entry, etc.) to support data analysis and consistency between eventual multiple shift operations. Follow up with associates for noncompliance and issue disciplinary action as needed.
  • Be the talent champion for associates in Power Systems Maintenance by growing strengths, identifying weaknesses, and facilitating training to close gaps.
  • Recognize associates for accomplishments and cultivate a positive environment that facilitates the advancement of the maintenance team.
  • Implement necessary disciplinary action to correct inappropriate behavior.
  • Verify and maintain all payroll records for the assigned maintenance area.
  • Report, investigate and follow through on all safety issues in their assigned areas, including incidents and safety improvement cards (Zip Cards)
  • Work with contractors and vendors as needed for equipment support and/or services.
  • Coordinate all required facility maintenance.
  • Provide project support to other project leaders during planning and implementation phases of new or existing projects.
  • Maintenance plan creation of new equipment and processes
  • All other duties as assigned by supervision.

Skills/Requirements

Required Experience:


  • Seeking at least 5 years' experience in a previous supervisory role, preferably with maintenance or related technical field is required.
  • A Technical, Associate's, or Bachelor’s Degree in Supervisory Management or similar in Maintenance, Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills are required.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to understand and learn programs quickly is required.


Desired Experience:

  • At least 5+ years of maintenance experience.
  • Strong technical experience, including but not limited to: fabrication, welding, facilities maintenance, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and ability to read blueprints.
