Windridge Vineyards is a family-owned winery dedicated to producing premium, estate wines and providing an exceptional customer experience. Located in Darnestown, MD, just 30 minutes from Washington DC, we have 27 acres of vineyards and a brand-new Tasting Room that was officially opened in September 2020

Our primary business focus is selling wine and light fare at our farmm wine tasting venue, but we will also host special events throughout the year. To execute our sales plan and to ensure the success of our business, we strive to provide exceptional customer service in an environment that is unique and special.

Prep-Cook and Kitchen Assistance Job Description:

The Prep-cook and kitchen assistant will ensure that the proper amount of food is prepped, prepared, and efficiently produced throughout the business week according to business standards and demands. The Prep-cook and Kitchen Assistance will also be required to clean dishes, wine glasses, and keep an organized kitchen.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the Food Department Manager to effectively meet customer demand.
• Practicing food safety while handling all food.
• Notifying Food Department Manager of any low kitchen supplies.
• Notifying Food Department Manager of any low food inventory.
• Come in on assigned days to prepare food for the week.
• Assuring that all foods are properly labeled and stored within Health Dept parameters
• Monitoring all food fridges and ensuring they are at a safe food temperature
• Keeping a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring all food equipment, utensils, and containers are properly stored away and the floor cleaned.
• Removing all trash and recycling that is accumulated from the duration of your shift.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a Serve Safe Food Managers Certification
• Must have a Serve Safe Allegen Certification
• Must have valid Montgomery County Food Handling Identification
• Must have a minimum of 2 years prior experience in the food service industry
• Must be organized, self-starter, great with time management
• Must work well within a team environment
• Professional communication skills, professional manner in any situation
• Must be available to work on the weekends and holidays
• Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral directions
• Must be able to stand, kneel, and bend for long periods of time (6+hours/day)
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
• Must possess a valid driver's license or ID card
• Satisfactory reference check
• On-site position only, remote work not available

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.50 per hour
