Job Description
College of Professional Studies is seeking a Part-time Faculty to instruct the following course for the summer 2023 semester:
HCA 320: Crisis (Emergency) Management (online)
This course will provide an overview of crisis management for the healthcare leader. Students will learn the categories of disasters, the government agencies that assist with crisis management and the essentials of responding effectively to a crisis.

This position may be considered for fully remote but will be required to be performed in the greater Syracuse/Central NY geographical area. Qualifications
Master’s Degree or significant experience in the field.

Job Specific Qualifications
Candidates must have significant experience in course development, teaching and/or professional experience in this field. Additional qualifications include:
  • Online teaching experience
  • Experience with instructional design preferred
  • The ability to be self-directed with broadly-defined guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and efficiently with diverse people in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Interest in learning to use new technological tools to engage students in a virtual classroom environment


Responsibilities
For each online section:
  • Develop course in the online format following College of Professional Studies standards
  • Conduct live discussions weekly incorporating group work, case studies or other online pedagogy tools, incorporating material covered asynchronously, as well as student questions, items in the news that apply to course concepts, and other external sources or guests relevant to course content, etc.
  • View asynchronous content and student work and inquiries in advance of weekly live sessions
  • Grade assignments and exams quickly and provide relevant feedback to students;
  • Maintain regularly scheduled virtual office hours
  • Submit progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
  • Participate in instructor meetings quarterly
