The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) is seeking a Salesforce Architect.

The Salesforce Architect is a big-picture thinker and an in-depth problem solver who takes pride in designing systems that stand up to anything. You see issues before they become issues, even when scaling from one to a million customers. In this role, you will design, build, and deliver solutions that IDSA needs to succeed in serving our mission. The successful candidate will draw on deep technical and product knowledge to serve as trusted advisor. They will design and implement solutions that span multiple platforms. This includes integration and authentication across systems and management of the development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of highly secure solutions that are optimized for performance and built to scale.

Essential Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead, implementing and maintaining IDSAs Salesforce-based connected ecosystem. Design, configure, develop, and deploy Salesforce system features.
• Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platforms and products, as well as Salesforce-based managed packages used by IDSA to support industry-specific business processes. Provide detailed plans for proposed solutions.

• Articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for technical architecture. Understand and articulate dependencies between technology platforms and product(s) required to deliver a specified business solution.
• Investigate and implement best practices Salesforce usage to improve processes and productivity and make recommendations to support an organization scaling at a rapid pace.
• Define, communicate, and manage a change management (release) process to develop and implement new applications/code and updates to existing applications/code
• Design and manage the execution of test plans to ensure a quality solution is delivered.
• Serve as escalation point of contact for technical issues.
• Contribute to the creation of business-driven technology roadmaps.
• Keep up-to-date with new Salesforce product and technical capabilities resulting from product releases and acquisitions
• Serve as a mentor and advisor to the Manager, CRM and Analytics
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in relevant field; six years of relevant work experience can be submitted
• 3 or more years of experience delivering Salesforce Projects, including technical architecture, customization, data migration, business analysis and integrations.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience delivering technology implementations for full lifecycle enterprise software projects.
• 3 or more year of experience with programing languages such as APEX, Visual force and SOQL.
• Experience customizing on the Salesforce Lightning platform which should include: Lightning Components using the Lightning Design System framework, Apex, Apex data loader, and declarative platform tools. (Process Builder, Visual Workflow, Lightning App Builder, etc.)
• Multiple Salesforce Certifications including Administrator and Platform Developer 1. Salesforce Architect Certifications Preferred.

Competencies: Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Familiarity with managed packages for Association membership such as Fonteva or Nimble AMS.
• Experience implementing the Salesforce Non-Profit Success Pack (NPSP).
• Experience working with a broad range of organizations, including associations or nonprofits.
• Active in the Salesforce Community

Additional Qualifications:

• A strategic approach to solution design, with proven ability to develop and execute tactical plans to support the strategy.
• Knowledge of software design principles
• Experience with release management, source control, and deployment technologies.
• Experience with cross-cloud Salesforce (SFDC) implementations integrated with other cloud systems.
• Ability to communicate solutions to a variety of technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen
• Proven ability to design and optimize business processes and integrate business processes across disparate systems.
