A spontaneous, loving, and adventurous family of three based in Houston is seeking a preschool-savvy and travel-ready rotational nanny/family assistant to join them in caring for their child!

• Location: Houston, TX
• Ages of children: Almost 3 years old
• Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit
• Schedule: Full-time, rotational schedule of 2 weeks on/two weeks off with 24/7 on-call availability expected during working weeks, with typical working hours falling between 10am and 8pm.
• Compensation: The family is offering an hourly and overtime rate equivalent to an annualized base compensation of $90-110k/year dependent on candidate’s experience. The family may be open to candidates seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance and/or a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for personal and professional use during on weeks, professional development courses for Montessori, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-in while on duty. The family is open to candidates who would like to fly in/fly out. If local to Houston, a candidate is welcome to live out during on weeks.

Household dynamic:

• This on-the-go family is excited to add a new rotational nanny/family assistant to their team! Based in Houston, this family of three loves horses, travel, and their sweet and small senior dog. Their 3-year-old son attends a Montessori school from 8 am to noon Monday through Friday. The family would love to work with a candidate who is familiar with this method of education or who is willing and excited to learn. They also have a second home and farm in Kentucky, and enjoy frequent trips to spend time there. A nanny who is excited to spend time at the farm with them will thrive alongside this family in a travel-ready role!
• Both parents are in and out of the home frequently. They have a strong desire for someone who can be a beam of support to their family, as they hope to build a long-term relationship with their nanny.

Ideal candidate:

• This position is ideal for someone who is proactive, loves the early preschool years, and is developmentally minded! A candidate who takes charge, is kind and loving, and is excited to support their child’s growth and development in a Montessori environment will thrive. For candidates who would like to gain more familiarity with Montessori, the family is happy to pay for a course! Having a willingness to cook for the whole family, support family assisting duties, and travel with the family will be key. Having a fondness for horses is a huge bonus!
• Responsibilities include providing a safe and loving environment for the child to learn and grow. This role also requires grocery shopping, running errands, light pet care, meal planning, cooking, child-related household duties, and travel.
• The family would love to work with a nanny who speaks a second language like Spanish or French, and/or is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) to support and encourage their son’s ability to communicate in various ways.

Qualifications:

• Montessori experience or willingness to learn
• Comfortability preparing basic meals for the entire family
• 5 years of professional childcare experience
• Valid driver’s license and passport
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
• Experience traveling with families and children
• Dog and horse-friendly! Willing to support light dog care.
