The Opportunity

The Finance Analyst core responsibilities include providing management reporting, financial planning, pricing support, and analytical decision support to the Corporate Finance Business Unit and Ally Corporate Reporting. The position also includes exposure to various responsibilities such as regulatory reporting, risk related reporting, stress testing, allowance reporting, funding matters and certain other operational support. The position also works alongside business unit leadership on projects focused on growing /expanding the business, including review/due diligence on potential acquisitions, new products/industries, etc.

The Work Itself

  • Assist in completion of forecasts/business plans and provide required information to corporate departments and business unit partners
  • Provide support for preparation of Ally Senior Management and Board of Directors presentations
  • Develop, update, and refine management reports and tools to support the business and contribute to profitable growth
  • Maintain, refine and update business unit pricing model, working in concert with business partners
  • Assist in the continued development and reporting of client level profitability and provide analysis to explain results
  • Assist with the completion of various regulatory reports and other regulatory/SEC reporting requirements, including stress tests and other ad-hoc reporting requirements
  • Prepare quarterly model loss results and maintain the ongoing documentation of model assumptions
  • Provide analysis and support for departmental and strategic initiatives
  • Create and streamline reporting processes and increase efficiencies
  • Assist in the development of data caching and interactive dashboards to improve forecasting and decision making
  • Assist in the ongoing reporting and improvement of BU’s data governance program and be the liaison between IT and Corporate data governance team
  • Provide analysis and detail of findings related to month-end close activities and prepare short-term forecasts
  • Prepare risk related reports to track potential risks and support the Chief Risk Officer
  • Assist in special projects/assignments when required

The Skills You Bring

  • 1+ years' of Advanced knowledge of Excel, pivot tables, and visuals (VBA, Power Pivot) required
  • 1+ years' previous work experience in data and financial analysis is required
  • Detail oriented with robust problem-solving skills
  • Tech background with Python is a plus
  • Aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workflow
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Experience with GL and SAP BEX analyzer (Preferred, but not required)
  • Experience with Moody’s suite of products (Preferred, but not required)
  • Experience with Bloomberg Terminal (Preferred, but not required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from a reputable business school (MBA or Master’s in Finance preferred, but not required)
