Performs advanced and highly responsible administrative, research, and technical work for assigned County Commissioners. Performs a wide variety of complex tasks requiring initiative, independent judgement and extensive working knowledge of the Commissioner’s district and constituent concerns. Research issues that come before the Board of County Commissioners and briefs Commissioners. Prepares reports, articles, and correspondence. Responsible for constituent services for assigned Commissioners. Schedules and coordinates appointments and meetings for assigned Commissioners. Attends meetings and events in the community on the Commissioners’ behalf. Maintains sensitive and confidential files and records. Position involves considerable contact of a responsible nature with government officials, representatives of other departments, and the general public, often involving sensitive or confidential information.
- NOTE: This position has been designated by the Manatee County Commission as serving at the will and pleasure of the County Administrator. Employees so designated may be terminated at any time with or without cause.

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, business administration, or a related field.
2 or more years of experience providing research, technical, and/or administrative support to an elected official or similar role.
Valid driver license required, with valid Florida driver license required within 30 days of hire.
A comparable combination of education, training, and work experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
