Commercial Lender

As a Commercial Lender, your primary role will be to grow and retain profitable relationships. This is accomplished by focusing on the delivery of value-added solutions to your clients and prospects that will help them reach their goals and maximize revenues over the life of the relationship.

You will be a fully experienced, qualified relationship manager capable of independent activity. You should have proven client relationship skills, as well as extensive product knowledge, technical expertise, and strong transaction execution skills.

Credit process management is a critical component of your job. Performance will be measured by your effectiveness in many marketing areas, including but not limited to calling activity, proposal generation, revenue generation, risk mitigation, ability to build successful relationships, and propensity to help build the franchise for the long term. You will also seek opportunities to cross sell into every relationship and anticipate the future needs of the client.

Practically speaking you will:

  • Solicit commercial clients; aggressively seek and obtain quality new business through client and prospect calls, referrals, and cross selling efforts
  • Obtain and maintain COI’s and attending various networking events in the assigned geographic area
  • Requires skills and experience loan structuring and credit analysis
  • Generate a wide variety of commercial and real estate loans
  • Close loans typically in the $1 million to $10 million range
  • Contribute to deposit growth by cross selling and promoting additional banking products

The Details

This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 PM based in Houston- the specific branches are Spring, Magnolia, Bellaire, River Oaks, Magnolia Parkway, The Woodlands, Grand Parkway, and Memorial.

You’ll earn a competitive base salary, a comprehensive benefits package, vacation, and a 401K with a match of 50%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in banking, finance or other related field
  • Formally credit trained and /or underwriting knowledge and experience
  • Minimum of five years direct lending or credit support related experience with focus on business relationships
  • Familiarity with the sales, loan processing and closing processes
  • Extensive knowledge of Commercial Banking products and services including working knowledge of C & I as well as Owner-Occupied and Investment Commercial Real Estate loans
  • Ability to expand loans, client relationships, and cross sell bank products
