Position Summary

As an Assistant Manager you are responsible for ensuring that associates provide exceptional customer service, while achieving sales goals. This includes ensuring customer satisfaction, driving sales, building sales skills and product knowledge. Effective Assistant Managers maximize productivity and profitability by balancing sales and expenses, identifying sales opportunities and setting customer service standards. They must demonstrate knowledge of the stores purpose and goals and have the skills to help associates achieve those goals.

  • Payroll % to Sales TY vs Plan


Merchandising functions:

Aisle Assignments

  • Company Standards are Followed
  • Aisle Recovery

Inventory Reports

  • Mango
  • New Item
  • Negative On Hands
  • A & B Outs Report.Shooting Outs
  • ICE/Discontinued Report

POG Standards

  • Company Plano-gram and Program Updates
  • Product Recalls
  • Overall In Stock Standards
  • Clip Strips and Wing (Side)Panels
  • 100% Shelf Labeled
  • GCFV

End Cap and AD Presentation

  • Follow Company Standards
  • Signed , Full, and Impactful (like a billboard)
  • Filled with Promo and Non-Promo Items
  • Work with Store Manager on AD Bulletins
  • RSO Compliance

Signage

  • Marketing Ad Events are Set and Removed According to Marketing Calendar.
  • Weekly Price Changes
  • Review Daily Exception Reports

B2B

  • Monitor and Grow New and Old Accounts (MCR)


Operations functions:

Receiving

  • Packing Slips are Faxed and Mailed
  • Stockroom and Basement Standards Maintained
  • Processing Damages (ACE and Vendor)

Front End

  • Buyers Zone Ready for Business
  • Register Lanes are well stocked
  • Cashiers Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures
  • Inviting, Clean, and Uncluttered
  • Store Use and Pilferage Log
  • ACE Rewards

Facilities & Maintenance

  • Bathrooms are Cleaned Daily
  • Floors are Maintained and Kept Clean
  • Overall Maintenance of the Buildings Lighting and Safety
  • Interior/Exterior Maintenance

Training

  • Associate Training Program

Other Requirements:

  • Use the E.C.E.T. (Every Customer, Every Time) process with EVERY customer interaction
  • Greet every customer you make eye contact with, anywhere in the store
  • Answer customers questions and provide information on procedures and policies
  • Be at your workstation on time
  • Be customer ready whenever you are on the stage/sales floor
  • Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
  • Recommend related items when appropriate and execute S.A.L.E.S. process
  • Keep your area of responsibility neat, clean, stocked and priced properly
  • Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management
  • Assist in the training and development of peers
  • Actively participate in daily huddle meetings
  • Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards
  • Offer a carry-out if appropriate
  • Know the proper way to answer the telephone
  • Be alert for possible merchandise losses. Protect all company assets and report any missing or damaged
  • merchandise to your supervisor.
  • Address all safety concerns immediately
  • Advise store management of any pricing errors
  • Advise store management anytime you say "no" to a customer
  • Take initiative to learn product knowledge
  • Take initiative to learn selling skills
  • Perform other tasks as asked by store management
