Odyssey International Services, Inc. (also known as American Relocation Services) has been handling commercial and residential moving needs for over 20 years in Alaska. We provide our clients with cost-effective, timely and secure transport of personal effects and household goods. With warehouse facilities in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Kenai-Soldotna, Alaska, and in Tacoma, Washington, we are the experts is in Alaska moving and storage.

Summary
The Warehouse Associate’s primary responsibility is to load, unload, and processing of all shipments, maintain packing supplies and crate supply inventory, maintain warehouse locator system, and ensure the warehouse and yard remain clean and organized. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

This is a seasonal position.

Work Schedule:

• Start times may vary Monday through Friday based on customer’s needs
• Schedules are set by Dispatch
• Weekend work and/or overtime may be required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload freight
• Process and document all shipments
• Maintain packing supplies
• Maintain crate supplies
• Ensure yard and warehouse remain clean and organized
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 1-2 years of warehouse experience.
• Knowledge of transportation and/or household goods industry helpful.
• Forklift experience required.
• Forklift certification a plus, but not required.
• Must be able to satisfy physical demands (see below).
• Must be reliable and flexible with schedule.
• Willing and able to work with all personality types, with a professional, helpful manner.
• Ability and desire to perform well in a fast-paced, fluid environment where tasks change quickly.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical assessment test (PAT) or functional capacity exam (FCE), drug screen, and background check.

Certificates, Licenses:

• Forklift certification a plus, but not required.

Physical Demands:

• Stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
• Lift and/or move a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Carry a minimum of 75 lbs. to location designated by the customer.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Move with the aid of a pallet jack, loads in excess of (2500) pounds to the locations designated by the customer.
• Move with the aid of a hand truck, loads with boxes stacked 10-15 high, weighing in excess of (100) pounds to locations designated by the customer at the delivery location.
• Work in extreme weather conditions, with temperature variances from + 90 degrees Fahrenheit to – 50 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the course of a season.
