Overview:
Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Unit Associate for the Mother/Baby Unit at Morristown Medical Center to work varied shifts including every other weekend. One summer and one winter holiday are required.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions/Responsibilities of Position:
- Greeting patients, visitors, healthcare team members, and physicians
- Registering Mother and Baby
- Admitting patients
- Answering call lights
- Ordering transcriptions
- Use of CPOM
- Assisting charge nurse/coordinator with patient flow through the unit
- Patient chart maintenance; answering the phone
- Communicating critical information to doctors and nurses in a high pace environment
- Other miscellaneous administrative duties
Requirements:
- The candidate must possess excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal communication skills and telephone etiquette
- Must be able to attend at least four weeks or more of training during the days and evening hours, as well as weekends
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Relevant Experience:
- Previous Unit Rep experience in a hospital or medical office preferred
- Computer literate and knowledge/training in medical terminology is a plus
