Overview:
Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Unit Associate for the Mother/Baby Unit at Morristown Medical Center to work varied shifts including every other weekend. One summer and one winter holiday are required.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions/Responsibilities of Position:
  • Greeting patients, visitors, healthcare team members, and physicians
  • Registering Mother and Baby
  • Admitting patients
  • Answering call lights
  • Ordering transcriptions
  • Use of CPOM
  • Assisting charge nurse/coordinator with patient flow through the unit
  • Patient chart maintenance; answering the phone
  • Communicating critical information to doctors and nurses in a high pace environment
  • Other miscellaneous administrative duties
Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • The candidate must possess excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal communication skills and telephone etiquette
  • Must be able to attend at least four weeks or more of training during the days and evening hours, as well as weekends

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Relevant Experience:

  • Previous Unit Rep experience in a hospital or medical office preferred
  • Computer literate and knowledge/training in medical terminology is a plus
