Job Requirements: Promote a high level of customer service by ensuring customers are assisted in an enthusiastic, timely, and knowledgeable manner. Manages and promotes daily store operations, including managing and promoting the business through the Non-Negotiable Standards, handle the day-to-day operations of the store, and strive for solutions and alternatives in bettering the business. Train and motivate staff to meet the sales goals and provide excellent customer service. Drive sales through the understanding of the business in regards to buying merchandise, selling merchandise, pricing merchandise and overall store merchandising. Manage the store visual appearance to ensure it is organized, clean and meets all customer and brand expectations. This is a salaried position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. Understands and complies with the Non-Negotiable Standards provided by Krieger Kiddie Corporation.

2. Greet customers immediately, determine their needs, and handle all transactions in a professional and enthusiastic manner.

3. Become familiar with products, brands and prices and make recommendations of products, including their features and benefits, to suit customers’ needs. Maximize sales and customer satisfaction by upselling items to every sale.

4. Opening and/or closing responsibilities including but not limited to: responsibility for store key, opening and closing the store on a timely basis and according to schedule, balancing registers, opening/closing the till and responsibility for deposits as needed.

5. Independently and pro-actively handles all store’s daily operations and problems as they occur, including computer issues and customer complaints. This includes overseeing all employee breaks and lunches and adhering to state and federal labor laws.

6. Drive sales increases by encouraging, coaching, training, and being an exemplary role model in all aspects of customer service. Promote and role model superior customer service to staff every day. Ensure that all staff understand and support the pursuit of superior customer service. Meets or exceeds goals.

7. Ensure that the store’s visual presentation is always excellent. Ensure that end caps are always filled with the best merchandise, changed every 3 to 4 weeks, and signed properly; mannequin displays are seasonally correct and similar to Mall displays. Keep the store clean, free of dust, and odors.

8. Continually communicate with the District Manager and work as a team to ensure that the store always delivers excellent customer service.

9. Meet all deadlines set forth by the Store and District Manager.

10. Maintain and review all required store paperwork, including daily audit sheets and emails, the store’s sales binder, employee buys and sales, and month end paperwork.

11. Recruit, hire, and train staff. Utilize brand tools and techniques. Ensure each store has a management team (including at least one Assistant Store Manager) and a bench. Perform and complete associate progress reviews and performance evaluations after 30 days, upon any promotion or change in position and every 6 months.

12. Monitor schedule changes and ensure all shifts are covered. Ensure store is meeting Sales per Labor Hour goals and make adjustments accordingly.

13. Become proficient with the computer program, train new employees and educate current employees on computer program, and company policies and procedures.

14. Buy used product and price it according to company guidelines using the tools provided (label guides, buying guides, pricing guides, etc.). Pass all buyer certification requirements and attend quarterly buyer meetings held by the District Manager or member of the Corporate Staff. Monitor and supervise the buy process as a whole and focus on improving the process, training and educating staff in order to increase sales and decrease clearance and defective merchandise.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. 2+ years of Management/Supervisory experience preferred.

2. 2+ years in retail experience preferred or experience in similar fast-paced, detail industry

3. Leadership, organizational and time management skills are required.

4. Proven customer service skills and strong interpersonal communication skills required.

5. Sales and goal-oriented.

6. Must be computer literate with POS systems, Excel and other related software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time..

2. Lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.

3. Bending, rotating, and reaching conducive to a retail environment and to receiving, pricing, and stocking merchandise.

4. Able to operate a computerized sales terminal.

5. No exposure to hazardous materials or environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
