Summary:

Support the jobsite work by expertly performing your craft.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for ensuring jobsite cleanliness
• Mops, brushes or spreads paint or bituminous compounds over services and applies caulking compound by hand or with caulking gun to seal surfaces
• Cleans tools, equipment, materials and work area
• Erecting and dismantling scaffolding
• Perform a variety of tasks involving tools such as sawing, shoring and braces, mounting pipe hangers, cutting and attaching insulation material,
• Perform a variety of trade specific tasks including, plumbing, drywall, framing, door and window installation, etc.
• Smooths and finishes freshly poured concrete using float, trowel or screen. May mix concrete or mortar using portable mixer
• Lifts, carries and holds building materials and supplies, levels earth to fine grade using pick and shovel and measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes and stretches tight line
• Grinds, sands and polishes surfaces such as concrete or wood
• Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures and reports any safety violations to the job foreman or superintendent
• Works cooperatively and courteously with others at all times
• Performs other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to talk or hear
• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel or manipulate objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl
• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolding and other objects and carry tools and equipment
• Occasionally required to sit
• Must be able to lift and/or carry or move materials weighing up to 100 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high and/or precarious places; extreme cold; and extreme heat
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud

Qualifications:

• High School Degree Required
• Skilled Apprenticeship Preferred
• 1-3 years construction experience preferred
• Bilingual preferred
• Ability to meet physical demands of job, required
