Raymond Westis looking for a dynamic Shop Lead to manage and direct service repair shop operations. Convey and maintain the company vision and culture. Responsible for coordinating all operational activities associated with a specific function within the assigned department. The Shop Lead is also responsible for assisting shop manager with day-to-day activities of the shop. Ensuring timely completion of new installs, rental requests and used sales. Will also be responsible for ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times.

Assists in the supervision of several employees as direct reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities will vary with the specific position. Typical responsibilities are listed below. This list is not inclusive.

  • Assign and supervise the operational activities within the Shop department.
  • Determine work procedures and expedite workflow
  • Issues instructions to staff
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Arrange schedules and set priorities for staff
  • Communicate processes and procedures to internal and external constituents
  • Train and coach staff on process and procedures
  • Assist in the overall direction of the department; may serve as member of various committees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Manage employee's timecard utilizing the company's Time and Attendance system
  • Assists shop personnel to help achieve Shop goals
  • Direct and prepare reports for Shop Senior leadership
  • Participate in Company or Department projects
  • Ensure employees and team are following all Company Policies
  • Works closely with other departments and communicate with all levels of employees, customers and Manufacturers both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates drive and initiative
  • Maintains a professional attitude in all matters
  • Must be able to manage time efficiently
  • Responsible for a non-supervisory workforce
  • Manage and direct service repair shop operations.
  • Maintain and drive the 5/S and RLM culture in the company.
  • Review all Shop quotes for accuracy and profitability
  • Create and issue Shop Quotes in a timely manner
  • Review problem work orders, prices, part numbers, and reworks.
  • Handle customer concerns and complaints
  • Monitor and supervise all Shop work as it pertains to shop jobs.
  • Follow all renewed standards for inspection, quoting, repairs, paint, final and QC.
  • Work with Shop Manager and Sales reps to solve issues.
  • Work with Parts Department to maintain proper parts flow in a timely fashion
  • Monitor compliance of shop procedures.
  • Coordinate monthly safety checks and Weekly 5S audits.
  • Review prospective shop warranty work orders before sending to the Warranty Administrator.
  • Maintain the service repair shop's reputation for excellent service and professionalism.
  • Complete quality control check out sheet for every job.
  • Maintain and enforce quality control.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent Written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Organizational Time Management skills
  • Must be able to perform duties under minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite and similar software
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departments
  • Must be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required'
  • Familiarity with all products serviced by the Service repair shop.
  • Willing to attend seminars and classes to update/improve various skills
  • Capable of making sound decisions.
  • Capable of communicating with people and customers at all levels
  • Sound working knowledge of basic A.C. and D.C. electricity, SCR, simple guide and internal combustion engines.
  • Sound working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Sound mechanical abilities.
  • Able to operate motor vehicles and forklifts
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Current, valid, unrestricted Class C California driver license

Education/Experience:

Minimum Education and Experience: Determined by position

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 2 years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have completed the Raymond Technical Primer
  • Must have completed the RW Scheduled Maintenance Primer

  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic, or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and risk electrical shock
  • Noise level is moderate

Pay Range:

  • $25.50 - $37.50
