Senior Accountant Nidec Press & Automation has an opening for a Senior Accountant at our Nidec CHS facility located in Macomb, Michigan. Nidec CHS, is a leading OEM of coil handling and press room equipment. Nidec CHS is a $14 million company and continues to grow. SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting in all facets of financial operations, including the monthly close cycle, financial and management reporting, budgeting and forecasting and internal controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the timely preparation and accuracy of the company's financial statements
  • Duties include completion of activities in all accounting areas: AP, AR, GL, cash management, costing and fixed assets, including:
    • Preparation and posting of journal entries
    • Account reconciliations
    • Accounts receivable collection and application
    • Process and payment of invoices
  • Active role in the monthly and annual planning and forecasting process, including evaluating variances
  • Manage the monthly and annual cash forecasts.
  • Run reports to evaluate product costing, labor reporting, margin analysis etc.
  • Assessing internal controls and identifying business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Prepare and provide required financial information for tax accountants
  • Address requests from corporate accounting and inside and outside auditors.
  • Collaborate with Corporate accounting team members, and other members of the organization, on various internal and cross-functional projects
  • Additional duties as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least (3) years post-graduate experience in a similar role, preferably with experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • CPA or MBA designation preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (IFRS preferred)
  • Self-starter with high performance standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent Excel skills
