Summary
Young Living is looking for a high-energy, self-motivated, results-driven Security Specialist. The Security Specialist coordinates and implements Young Living’s policies and procedures for the physical security and safety of all employees, contractors, members, and guests. Additionally, the Security Specialist manages day to day operational oversight to the organization’s facilities and the security of property and assets. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience as a Security Specialist.

Essential Functions

Percentage of Time: 65%
  • Conduct physical security surveys and assessments, prepares associated, detailed, and accurate written reports of survey actions, and findings.
  • Conducts access control assessments including validating secured doors, windows, and gates are all functioning appropriately.
  • Prepare log reports, pass down materials, and other safety/ security documents for management and staff to communicate identified issues found throughout the facility.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other software applications for word processing, data entry, briefings, reports, etc.
  • Coordinate and maintain visitor information as needed and ensures security procedures are followed for access into facilities.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras of facility and investigate and report incidents and/ or concerns.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects that changes frequently.
  • Watch for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, security doors left unlocked, and other risks/hazards.
  • Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Young Living’s Sustainability Policies by adhering to all environmental, safety, & health regulations, procedures, and goals.

Percentage of Time: 30%
  • Conduct escorts for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
  • Detect and report (verbally and in writing) suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts which may be a threat to guests, staff, animals, property or assets on Young Living property.
  • Respond to emergency calls from security or other Young Living staff to prevent theft, property destruction, or vandalism.
  • Maintain knowledge of current security and emergency policies and procedures and respond to emergencies in accordance with policy.
  • Register at watch stations to record time of inspection trips.
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehends or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Percentage of Time: 5%
  • Administer first aid to sick or injured employees, volunteers, and guests, and contact emergency medical providers for assistance.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.
  • Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
  • Sound alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Initial point of contact for Police, Fire, EMS services.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not supervise employees.

Work Environment
The employee will be working in a farm environment. This includes being outside in warmer and colder temperatures, working near equipment and animals. The role also routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, photocopiers, shredders, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must be able to tolerate essential oils worn and/or diffused.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use manual dexterity to handle, feel, and operate objects, tools, and controls and reach with hands and arms. This individual is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and lift office supplies up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience
Security Specialist
High school diploma or equivalent. One to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred
Associates degree or equivalent. Three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
