Job Summary:

Experienced Operation Control Center Manager to manage a 24/7 operations center that ensures the safe and reliable operation of the wind, solar, and energy storage projects (transmission and generation) under normal and emergency conditions, complying with the applicable NERC reliability standards, RTO rules and protocols, and interconnection requirements. Essential Functions:

· Leads an operational team that provides dispatch, operation, reliability, safety, environmental impact, and regulatory compliance for all LRE generating facilities

· Directs and manages a productive and motivated staff of technical professionals

· Ensures effective staffing decisions, appropriate work assignments and delegation, and effective use of performance management

· Identifies skills and technical training needs for the team and individuals and ensures team members complete development tasks for primary and secondary skills.

· Ensures team has proper Renewable Energy tools, technical support and training for wind, solar, and battery storage operations

· Deals promptly and effectively with individual performance problems and/or any other work group-related problems or conflicts

· Keeps management abreast of work schedule status and any potential conflicts

· Proactively evaluate operations personnel to ensure procedures are followed in controlling availability and production during normal and emergency conditions providing reliable and safe operation of energy projects.

· Provide leadership in the development of processes and procedures in the necessary scheduling and operations of LRE assets & new assets coming into service

· Supports the development of an internal NERC Compliance Program

· Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless operations through integrations and commissioning of new plants, upgrades, and enhancements

· Detect and report Operations Center SCADA quality issues or improvement needed.

· Develop programs for operators to maintain certifications to ensure professional development in renewable energy technology as well as for all NERC, Regional and ISO requirements.

· Ensure the Operations Center operates the generation and transmission system within the normal and emergency limits and to safely comply with all NERC and Regional Reliability Standards.

· Prepares technical analysis and reports as requested by management

· Provides day-to-day technical leadership and guidance to the Operations team

· Represents the company/department in a professional and positive manner in all internal and external contacts

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Science.

· 5+ years of relevant work experience, including a supervisory or lead role in shift work environment

· NERC Transmission System Operator Certification (within 6 months of start date)

· PJM Generator Operator Certification (within 6 months of start date)

· Ability to work well under pressure and take actions necessary to correct adverse conditions and restore system

· Working knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards a plus

· Knowledge of Electrical/Mechanical theory and concepts as plus

· Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to occasionally work 12-hour shifts

· Flexibility to occasionally work outside scheduled times

· Ability to work closely with team members of diverse backgrounds.

· Technologically savvy and experience with a variety of software’s and systems.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in a shift schedule where necessary to ensure coverage.

· Position will require sitting for long periods of time.

· Occasionally lifting 20-pound boxes.

  • Ability to travel within the US.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $110,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus pay
