Your Role As a HealthStreamer

Position Summary

The Regulatory and Compliance Specialist (RCS) is an expert within the content development team on healthcare regulations, accreditation requirements, and standards of care. The RCS will be a compliance, regulatory, and clinical guideline resource to program and product managers, program editors, and contracted subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure courses include up-to-date information and ultimately "improve the quality of healthcare by developing the people that deliver care.”

This person works closely with program managers to define and implement the content vision and roadmap to maintain and increase customer satisfaction. This person will be responsible for monitoring and interpreting federal and state regulatory changes and will help maintain a customer-facing database that compiles this information. The RCS will also be responsible for collaborating with the editorial managers to determine how and when courseware and other resources should be updated to reflect the changes.

The successful candidate for this position will have experience in compliance as well as CMS Conditions of Participation (CoPs), OSHA, JC National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs), regulatory review, interpretation, and application. This candidate will demonstrate an understanding of healthcare learner needs and microlearning curriculum development. They will have the ability to plan and execute their own activities with minimal supervision, appropriate prioritization, and focus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Regularly and systematically review the Compass database, appropriate websites, and relevant publications for changes in regulations, requirements, and standards of care.

• Inform subject matter experts (SMEs), vendors, members of the content development team, and other product or business-related stakeholders of new and changed regulations.

• Identify content gaps related to regulations, requirements, and standards of care.

• Recommend changes or additions to current content as needed based on regulation or guideline changes.

• Update and maintain course mapping documents for OSHA, JC, CMS CoPs across common healthcare settings.

• Assist in the identification of state-level healthcare professional licensure and re-licensure requirements and develop outlines for courseware to meet these requirements.

What You Will Need to be Successful

Education, Experience and Knowledge Required:

• Degree in Nursing

• Clinical or healthcare-related experience required

• Five or more years of experience in a clinical management position

• Working knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards

• Proven ability to provide relevant thought leadership in the areas of knowledge and competency

• Demonstrated experience with MS Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, Powerpoint, and Sharepoint
