Lake Foods, Inc. is hiring a full time Purchasing Manager to join our locally owned
company. We are a rapidly growing poultry processor located in Hartwell, GA, only 40
minutes from Anderson, SC, 45 minutes from Athens, GA and 1 hour from Greenville, SC.
This position reports directly to the VP of Operations and indirectly to the Financial Controller
and has one direct report (Purchasing Associate). Lake Foods offers Medical, Dental, Vision,
Accidental & Life Insurance as well as a 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match.
To be successful in this role, you will need: excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
strong leadership and negotiation skills; experience in manufacturing or warehousing;
experience with an accounting program or ERP (we use NetSuite); a superior history
maintaining a balanced budget.
Responsibilities:
Design purchasing strategies to ensure constant availability of inventory within budgetary
restrictions
Maintain database of current and potential suppliers and cultivate working relationships to
ease the process of acquiring new materials
Involvement with senior leadership in supplier contract negotiation
Evaluate quality, price, reliability, technical support and availability of goods and services
Manage buying process of goods and services
Complete weekly budgetary reports
Responsible for inventory management (at the accounting level) and internal auditing
(packaging, ingredients, chemicals, personal protective equipment, plant supplies, etc.)
Requirements:
4 year college degree in business, accounting, engineering, or related area
5 years professional experience in a purchasing-related role
Experience working with successful diverse teams
Experience in manufacturing or warehousing, particularly in fast-paced environments
Auditing experience is preferred, but not required
