Property Field Claims Representative

This position home-based in our Central Virginia region - including Fluvanna, Buckingham, Louisa (parts), Albemarle, Amherst, Nelson, and surrounding areas.

Virginia Farm Bureau is seeking a customer focused Property Field Claims Representative (PFCR) to join our claims team. The PCR is responsible for handling a variety of claims and providing efficient settlements in accordance with company procedures and standards.

LOCATION:

Southwest Virginia Region and Surrounding Areas, Virginia including Fluvanna, Buckingham, Louisa (parts), Albemarle, Amherst, Nelson, and surrounding areas.

(Home Based from Central Virginia Region) Company Auto provided with covered gas, insurance and maintenance.

POSITION

Full time salaried position with benefits

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Investigate all losses assigned for Virginia Farm Bureau members

• Comply with company policies and procedures in the handling of all losses and other company matters.

• Report all activity on all claim files to the company promptly.

• Prioritize First Contact Settlement Communications with Claimants

• Promptly reply to all complaints as requested.

• Advise Underwriting Department on all poor risks

• Assist and give guidance to other claim personnel as requested.

• All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

• College degree or equivalent work experience

• Minimum 5+ years claims handling experience

• Equivalent/Applicable prior insurance claims experience

• Completion of AIC, CPCU or SCLA designation

• Knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Code of Virginia

• Knowledge of tort laws affecting civil cases

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills

• Proven customer service skills

• Strong investigation and settlement skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Previous VFB claims experience a plus

• Knowledge of insurance contracts issued by the company

• Experience with casualty insurance claims
