Galion LLC is the leading provider of contract precision machining with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System is currently seeking Production Workers.

JOB TITLE: Production Worker I - 2nd Shift Monday -Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION FUNCTION

  • Performs routine factory work of a repetitive nature requiring little specialized knowledge. Performs such tasks as loading and unloading secondary machining operations, semi-automated assembly, packaging machines, or spray paint conveyor line. Versatile worker who can perform several tasks by virtue of past job experience. Job is performed in a machine shop environment requiring light to medium physical effort. Reports to Crew Leader and Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Loads components in a secondary machining set up, spray paint conveyor line, assembly or packaging machine.
  • Unloads machined, painted, assembled, or packaged components and visually inspects them for conformance to item specifications.
  • Disassembles defective component assemblies and reassembles them to meet the item specifications.
  • Examines and screens defective components from acceptable components in accordance with the item specification.
  • Packages finished components according to the item specification.
  • May assist in packaging boxed finished goods for motor freight shipment, such as; banding, marking, strapping, etc.
  • Performs any related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills for purpose of general literacy.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate information with managers and other employees, both orally and in writing.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, flying metal burrs and chips and possible chemical irritants. The employee is occasionally exposed to uncomfortable cold or heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
