Located in downtown Buffalo, Perma Tech Inc. is seeking a Procurement Specialist in support of the Company’s quickly growing and changing production operation.

Perma Tech, Inc. was founded in 1984 by father and son; Richard E. (“Dick”) Lund and Richard E. (“Rich”) Lund, Jr and is still family owned and operated today. We have established a reputation for designing and building custom, high quality loading dock solutions through the success of adopting the principles of lean manufacturing and workforce development. This, along with our R&D and other efforts, allows us to provide our customers with uniquely customized products, at unheard lead times, at a time when many competitors are attempting to limit themselves to more standardized products and procedures.

As a result of recent and anticipated continued growth, we are seeking a Procurement Specialist to help lead in the Company’s implementation of improved procurement and purchasing practices, including use of the newly implemented ERP system, Global Shop. In this role, this person will be accountable for a variety of tasks in the purchasing and procurement function, including vendor sourcing and management, RFPs, entering and maintaining purchasing data in the Global Shop system (ERP), price/contract negotiations, and inventory management of main production supplies for ordering needs, etc. (purchasing program), and general purchasing process improvement. All of this will be done while working closely with production leadership, the General Manager, and business ownership.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) – Technical or Operational in nature.
• Previous experience working in a purchasing and procurement role. Very open to considering high-potential candidates without manager or leader experience who are looking to take the next step in their purchasing career!
• Demonstrated results with making process improvements and/or change management is highly sought, including previous experience working through an ERP implementation, etc.
• Team oriented, high attention to detail, good communication skills to work closely inter-departmentally, and within the Production workforce.
• Demonstrated understanding of Inventory Management and replenishment systems including MRP and Kanban systems, and ERP systems, especially in the areas of inventory management, preferred.

As a result of recent and anticipated continued growth, we are seeking a leader for our operation who will be accountable for planning, coordinating, organizing, and controlling production, ensuring quality, lead time, and productivity goals are achieved. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this individual will play a direct role in helping the organization meet ever-expanding growth opportunities. They will be responsible for achieving set Production goals through overall Production operations management including direct staff management of all production employees, quality assurance, inventory management, materials and warehousing, and safety management.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) – Technical or Operational in nature.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing, warehousing, or related position.
• Demonstrated results in operational improvements and/or change implementation/management utilizing lean principles, as well as ISO experience, preferred.
• Team oriented, high attention to detail, good communication skills to work closely inter-departmentally, and within the Production workforce.
• Demonstrated understanding of Inventory Management and replenishment systems including MRP and Kanban systems, and ERP systems, especially in the areas of inventory management, preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities including in the areas of safety, direct staff Supervision, and change implementation with lean, continuous improvement, material flow, and related initiatives.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
