Job Description
- Follows safe operating procedures and complies with all EHS and GPM guidelines to ensure that only the highest safety standard is maintained.
- Performs tasks within acceptable limits for quality, quantity, sanitation and timeliness of completion, paying particular attention to prevent and eliminate costly errors.
- Meets company’s attendance requirements, including timely reporting of absence and working overtime as requested
- Checks and inspects material received from prior operations to verify accuracy and conformance to customer's specifications.
- Prepares make-ready for upcoming jobs (such as speedwells, color standards, cylinders, color keys, trolley's, inks and doctor blades.
- Stages material for upcoming jobs and takes raw material samples to lab for testing prior to production.
- Checks and monitors viscosities regularly.
- Orders raw materials and wets for upcoming jobs.
- Hangs rolls of incoming material and prepares for splicing.
- Learns basic machine operation.
- Fills in for assistant as needed.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area in accordance to 5S standards, by cleaning spills and disposing of trash on a timely basis
- Participate in on the job training and instruction to learn other job tasks.
- Complies with company policies and performs other duties as assigned.
- Must possess strong working knowledge of printing process.
- Must possess the ability to operate basic hand tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- 0-1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting
- High School Education or equivalent
- Daily contact with maintenance workers, shift supervisor, production employees and production planners.
- Limit exposure to external contacts.
