Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Crisis Services, will serve individuals requiring an enhanced level of support for substance use disorders and/or Co-occurring disorders who access CMHA-CEI’s Crisis Services. The Recovery Coach will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to individuals seeking recovery in order to help access services and supports, prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements: Possession of high school diploma or G.E.D is required. Must have two continuous years in recovery from addiction(s) with experience navigating treatment services and/or prevention; experience receiving publicly funded treatment and recovery services for addiction. One year of experience interacting with persons with substance use disorder required. Must possess the MDHHS Peer Recovery certification or the MCBAP Certified Peer Recovery Mentor certification. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both orally and in writing is required. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required.

Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police Clearance, county jail background check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check, verification of an acceptable work history and an acceptable Michigan driving record. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: $18.38 - $19.90 per hour. 20 hrs. a week, Monday - Friday from 6pm- 10pm

Location: Adult Mental Health Services/Crisis Services, Lansing, Michigan.
