TGH is the area’s only level I trauma center and one of just two ABA-verified adult & pediatric burn centers in Florida. With five medical helicopters*, we transport critically injured or ill patients from 23 surrounding counties to receive the advanced care they need. Job Summary
Responsible for daily operations and increasing the efficiency and success of a clinical practice. Promptly answers and returns all patient phone calls, addressing the patient’s needs as efficiently as possible. Documents all relevant conversations in EMR. Coordinates with medical team to ensure that all pre- and post-op records are received and properly uploaded into system. Works with patients, providers, and surgical facility staff to identify best operative time and schedules surgeries. Work with representatives of surgical supplies to ensure proper supplies are present for surgery. Work with Revenue Cycle Operations to obtain authorizations as necessary and obtain purchase orders; may work appeals, denials; coordinates logistics between Hospital and Practice Plan for self-pay patients as necessary. Assist front desk/financial specialist obtain any STAT or add-on same day procedure authorizations/referrals. Assist with front desk coverage. Communicate confirmation of authorization obtained and estimate of co-pay or co-insurance. Recognizes and adheres to all CMS, JCAHO, and HIPAA requirements when validating the account. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications
AA degree in business or equivalent in experience, medical terminology.
Requir
ed Skills
AA degree in business or equivalent in experience, medical terminology.
Knowledge of clinical systems, such as EPIC a plus. Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
Minimum 2 years in a clinical setting.
