  • More than 800 physicians, 450+ advanced practice providers, and 2,600 clinical and support staff in over 40 specialties, provide patients with a broad range of medical and surgical services.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Patient Care Coordinator provides continuous and well-rounded care to surgical and non-surgical patients. Educates the patient and/or family on pre-operative and post-operative care in addition to the treatments being provided in the practice. Schedules surgical procedures, pre-admission testing and serves as a liaison between the patient and practice support staff. Monitors the patients’ course of treatment and communicates pertinent information to the physician to obtain referrals and/or orders for medication and/or diagnostic tests. Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times as well as maintaining personal and professional growth.

  • Answers phones, schedules patient appointments and triages patient phone calls. Returns telephone calls in a timely manner
  • Prioritizes work tasks, maintains a steady workflow, follows through until task is complete. Uses appropriate problem solving and decision-making abilities based on established protocols
  • Thoroughly explains procedures, treatments, and nursing care to patients and/or family
  • Reviews patient charts to ensure that all test results and correspondence are present prior to the physician seeing the patient. Obtains appropriate authorizations from patient’s insurance carrier
  • Reviews appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintains timely flow of patients

Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent is required

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1+ year of medical office experience preferred
  • Clinical experience as an RN, LPN, MA or SW preferred
