The Division of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) in the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Louisiana State University seeks highly qualified candidates for a chaired professor supported by the Oskar Menton Endowment. All candidates or nominees should have the education and experience commensurate with appointment at the rank of professor, including a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field, and a proven track record of scholarly activity or engineering achievement, teaching, professionalism and service. Candidates with equivalent industrial experience are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include establishment of an outstanding research program and a commitment to teaching both graduate and undergraduate students. The position is open to candidates with expertise in the area of power engineering. As described in LSU’s Strategic Plan 2025 (

), the university seeks to expand expertise in energy-related research.
Responsibilities: Lead a recognized research program, publish results in appropriate journals or other media, teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Electrical Engineering, direct/supervise post-doctoral scholars, graduate and undergraduate students, provide leadership/mentoring to junior faculty.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with a proven track record of scholarly activity or engineering achievement, teaching, professionalism and service. Candidates with equivalent industrial experience are encouraged to apply.
