Summary
Founded in 2002, Beyond Basics is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to eradicate illiteracy, transforming the lives of students and creating stronger communities. Our one-on-one, multisensory tutoring program helps students achieve grade level proficiency in reading in an average of six weeks. In addition to our structured literacy interventions, we cultivate curiosity an encourage a love of lifelong learning with fine arts activity that expand horizons.
Primary duties of the Receptionist/Office Assistant include greeting visitors with a friendly attitude and operating a multiline telephone system to answer and direct phone callers to appropriate personnel and provide administrative support to the Beyond Basics team as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer phone and route calls.
- Welcome on-site visitors, determine nature of business and announce visitors to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain office supplies and place orders when needed while staying within budget constraints.
- Review and verify invoices for supplies received.
- Perform clerical tasks including drafting letters, memos, reports, and other documents.
- Copy and scan documents, assist users with copy machine, call for maintenance and repairs of machine.
- Coordinate packaging and mailing of items to supporters, staff members.
- Help organize and maintain office common areas.
- Light office cleaning when needed.
- Order and pick up lunches when needed.
- Work with/ instruct Volunteers as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
