Job Description – Medical Day Program Kitchen Assistant (Part-time ONLY)

Progress Unlimited Inc., A MEDICAL DAY PROGRAM PROVIDER located in Owings Mills, Md is seeking a reliable, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to support the dietary needs of individuals with diverse dietary requirements.

To be a successful Kitchen Assistant, you must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task without sacrificing accuracy in your work. You will assist the Kitchen Manager with providing meals, snacks, and support for special events. Because of the personal nature of this position, you must be compassionate, respectful, courteous and enjoy helping others. The Med Day Kitchen Assistant reports to the Activity Director. You must have phenomenal communication skills since it is your responsibility to bring concerns and issues to your supervisor.

· Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage to uphold proper health department standards

· Know and understand the dietary needs of each client

· Prep and serve breakfast

· Conduct cooking class for the clients

· Establish rapport with the caterers, receive and check lunch delivery

· Ensure all food items and products are stored, prepared, and served based on ServSafe regulations

· Serve as back-up for kitchen manager

Qualifications

· High School diploma or equivalent (required)

· Prior experience in a similar position (required)

· Ability to flex hours when we have special events

Schedule

· Monday – Friday, 7:30am to 12:30pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
