Job Overview

The janitorial position assists facilities to ensure the smooth operation of all tasks related to building maintenance and custodial operations. The janitor will need to work efficiently with the facilities team to maintain a clean, safe, and functioning environment for all employees. The janitor must be a hands-on member of the team who can reliably complete tasks as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

• Follow daily, weekly and monthly task lists for keeping facilities clean and tidy (including, mop, vacuum, dust, zero waste office management, etc.)
• Clean up inside and around the building, including conference rooms/shared spaces and design garage
• Run dishwasher and ensure plates, mugs, and cutlery are all in place
• Clean up daily lunch program; pack leftovers as needed
• Support putting together and cleaning up after special events
• Refill cleaning supplies in the bathrooms and closets (soap, papers, etc.)
• And other appropriate duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb and descend stairs
• Ability to work as a team with the facilities and operations departments
• Aptitude for hands-on work and cleaning procedures
• General knowledge of custodial and building operations
• Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while executing time sensitive requests as needed
• Comfortable taking direction from facility management and communicating task timelines
