Responsibilities:
Cedar Hills Hospital is seeking an
Assessment Counselor
with an interest or background in behavioral health to join our team and to support our patients in our Inpatient Program.
Responsibilities of this position include taking inquiry calls, crisis calls, and assisting in setting up appropriate assessment appointments for Cedar Hills Hospital Inpatient Services.
The Assessment Counselor provides assessment evaluations, determines level of care, makes treatment recommendations and provides full risk assessment and safety planning.
Additionally, the Assessment Counselor is responsible for providing initial insurance pre-certifications and providing accurate clinical information to obtain insurance authorization.

Education: Master's degree in a human relations field.
Experience: Preferably two or more years of experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting. A minimum of two years experience in a psychiatric hospital setting including customer contact.
Licensure: Licensed to practice in the State of Oregon as a mental health professional or working to obtain licensure.
Additional Requirements: A working knowledge of the DSM-IV and the Mental Status Exam. A working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field. Successful completion of Crisis Management and Service Excellence training must occur within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in any restraining procedures. May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
