GP Strategies has an immediate need for an Insurance Trainer to deliver new hire on-boarding for our client’s service and claims centers. This is a full-time, benefitted position primarily based in our client’s office in Oriskany, New York (>75% of the time). The candidate can work remotely when not required onsite, and must be willing to travel, on occasion, to deliver training to other locations.

Role Purpose:

  • Delivers classroom-based and virtual training solutions (ILT and VILT)
  • Facilitates learning via classroom instruction and webinars; incorporate a variety of presentation methods and applications to accommodate adult learning styles
  • Facilitate training of new hires using functional, specific and various programmatic materials (Learner Guides, Facilitator guides, etc.)
  • Partner with Learning and Development Managers, departments and the business to deliver and meet training departmental objectives
  • Provide instruction through delivery of training programs that consistently exceed customer expectations as indicated in trainer/program evaluations
  • Responsible for the delivery and facilitation of training programs

Requirements:

  • Prior service experience in insurance (dental, disability, long-term care, health, etc.) or financial industry preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance business and terminology
  • Experience delivering soft skills and technical training programs in a classroom-based and virtual environment
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of insurance operations, agency and/or underlying principles
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot students’ issues within a classroom-based or virtual environment
  • Strong communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of principles, techniques and methods of adult learning
  • Ability to travel to deliver on-site training in other locations for up to two weeks at a time if required
  • Experience delivering training virtually via Cisco WebEx Training Center, Meeting Center, Event Center and Microsoft Teams
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook)
  • Proficient in virtual learning platforms and gaming software – Kahoot! a plus
  • Knowledge of learning theory and effective teaching methods
  • Working knowledge of learning management systems/learning content management systems
  • An Insurance License is a plus
