Salary

Up to $36 per hour (dependent upon experience and qualifications) + a $4.00 per hour shift differential


Typical Hours

6:00am - 6:30pm, Thursday - Sunday (45-55 hours per week)


Job Description

Under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, this skilled position will concentrate on installation, modification, troubleshooting installation, removal, and repairs of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical equipment and machinery, as well and repair and installations of building and facility fixtures.


Essential Functions
(performed either with or without accommodation)

  • Perform troubleshooting duties efficiently on various assigned machines, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Install, rig, modify, remove, and repair machines or equipment.
  • Inspect machinery for maintenance repair, repairing important items during inspection and reporting all finds to Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Oil and lubricate various equipment throughout the facility. Trained in Lock-out/Tag-out and other applicable safety programs.
  • Use tools and equipment of the trade to perform assigned tasks.
  • Perform assigned preventive maintenance activities.
  • Identify mechanical weaknesses and problems before they result in breakdowns and production interruptions; attempt to resolve in advance.
  • Perform and assist with general housekeeping and cleaning of area, department and plant on a daily basis.
  • Use and operate with tools, machinery and equipment safely, effectively and responsibly.
  • Follow all safety rules, regulations, procedures and laws applicable to the job.
  • Carry out miscellaneous work assignment as required to maintain equipment and keep production running.
  • Perform temporary work assignments if trained and able to perform, and invest extra time as required to support the department and to maintain production schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that are within the scope of one’s knowledge, experience, training and ability.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of maintenance experience required, five years preferred.
  • Experience working in a medium to heavy industrial environment is preferred.
  • Experience driving powered industrial equipment such as forklift, Bobcat, and overhead cranes and hoists preferred.

Note: An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.


Skill Requirements

  • Average to above average two-hand and eye coordination.
  • Employee must be a self-starter and work with limited supervision
  • Able to make logical decisions and know where to go to and when to ask for assistance.
  • Be able to pass an operator’s training course in various machines and forklift operations.
  • Perform and assist with general housekeeping and cleaning of work area, department and plant as assigned.
  • Must be able to communicate both orally and written with plant personnel.


Physical Requirements (met either with or without accommodation)

  • Occasionally exert up to 100 lbs. of force to lift, push or pull materials, tools or other objects.
  • Frequently exert up to 20l bs. of force to lift, push or pull materials, tools or other objects.
  • Continually stand or walk.
  • Occasionally sit, squat, kneel, bend or climb.
  • Occasionally reach outward or above shoulder level.
  • Gross and fine manual dexterity to manipulate tools, parts, adjustments, controls and computer systems.
  • Vision: Correctable for depth of field, color, near and far.
  • Hearing: Correctable for regular verbal communication.
  • Ability to wear required PPE
