St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. Itincludes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatricfacility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needsservices for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital inFairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and isthe system’s second-largest hospital.

JobSummary

• Assists with procedures ordered by physician and supervised by aRegistered Nurse.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care, activities ofdaily living and transfers/transport.
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotionalconditions to nursing staff.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide careappropriate to population specific facilitating timely and individualized careof assigned patients.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate from anaccredited Registered Nurse program prior to start date. BSN preferred.
• Must pass NCLEX and belicensed as an RN in the State of CT within 90 days of graduation from ASN/BSNprogram.
• BLS required within 60days of hire.
• An excellent opportunityto develop a strong skillset in multiple service lines.

All NewGraduate RNs will participate in a year-long Nurse Residency Program (NRP) witha curriculum proven to improve decision-making competence and confidence, nursingleadership and critical thinking skills, and provide a higher-level of overallsupport during the time of transition to professional practice.

The NurseResidency Program offers monthly seminars that will compliment nursingorientation and the unique training provided to Registered Nurses in ourvarious units across the hospital.
