General Purpose:

The Golf Shop Attendant collects retail and fee sales; greets customers (members, daily green fee players and tournament players); ensures the Pro Shop and rental equipment are clean and in working orders daily; makes tee time reservations for members, non-members and tournaments; and works closely with the starters and marshals to ensure smooth operation and traffic flow on the course.

Essential Duties:

• Assist Head Professional and Assistants with daily operation of the Golf Shop.
• Sell Shop merchandise.
• Assist Guests with GHIN Handicap System.
• Book T-times.
• Check in guest and members.
• Print tee sheet for next days play.
• Make car signs for next days play.
• Maintain Golf Shop appearance.
• Sell Golf Memberships.
• Answer phones according to Sandestin guidelines.
• Assist with Tournament events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic Required Skills:

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of table service standards.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Ability to describe all menu items and methods of preparation.
• May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

• Most work tasks are mostly performed indoors in climate control.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 20-50 lbs. on occasion.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
