This temporary position is located in Raleigh, NC - Wake County.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $14.50 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Revenue. This position is located at 501 N. Wilmington Street., Raleigh, NC 27602.

In this position the General Utility Worker (GUW) should have one year of traceable experience/skills in the construction field. Applicants must have the ability to use power tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, tape measures, ability to paint, and experience loading/unloading box trucks. General Utility Worker (GUW) needs to have the ability to kneel for long period’s time, climb ladders, must be able to be on your feet without issue most of the day, and able to lift and carry up to 75lbs regularly. Computer skills and communication skills will be helpful to the General Utility Worker (GUW) in order to report time and have the ability to effectively communicate with our customers/vendors. Travel is required, but typically takes place during normal business hours. Experience building/breaking down cubicles is preferred along with having a valid NC driver’s license.

  • Basic knowledge of the application of trade skills to the duties assigned.
  • Skill in the use and care of equipment and tools used in performing work assignments.
  • Ability to follow oral work assignments.
  • Physical strength sufficient to move relatively heavy objects and to work at heavy manual tasks for considerable periods of time.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Education and/or experience in the performance of a variety of manual tasks that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade equivalent to one year of experience.
