Salal Credit Union is looking to add an Employee Relations Business Partner to our Human Resources team! Our HR team provides hands-on support to employees with the goal of increasing engagement, promoting employee development, and creating an inclusive work environment. The Employee Relations Business Partner provides guidance and coaching to all levels of management and identifies and resolves employee-related issues in a consistent, compliant, and timely manner.

The Employee Relations Business Partner is responsible for completing impartial internal investigations, facilitating and executing disciplinary action and terminations, and ensuring equitable treatment of employees at all levels in the organization. They will also provide recommendations to leadership for increasing employee satisfaction, engagement, and organizational effectiveness and will develop and implement programs to satisfy this aim. This person must be able to navigate ambiguity, manage multiple competing deadlines and priorities, and be comfortable navigating difficult conversations. This position is eligible to be performed mostly remote from the Seattle area. This position will be required to travel to our Northgate Headquarters or to any of our 4 branch locations as needed for time-sensitive and critical meetings. Candidates are welcome to work in our office full-time or on a hybrid schedule if desired. The schedule for this position will be from approximately 9:00am- 5:30pm Monday - Friday.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE:

  • 4+ years working in an Employee Relations Business Partner position or a Human Resources Business Partner position with a heavy focus on employee relations and investigations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence others
  • Knowledge and understanding of federal and state employment laws. Candidates with experience navigating multi-state employment laws and remote employees are preferred.
  • Analytical, process-driven, and detail-oriented; ability to break down ambiguous problems, evaluate data and feedback, and creatively solve problems.
  • Desire to partner with the larger Human Resources team and the organization to enhance our employee engagement initiatives, increase employee satisfaction, and to resolve employee concerns.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE EMPLOYEE RELATIONS BUSINESS PARTNER

  • Provide consultative services to promote equitable application of Human Resources policies throughout the company. Advise, counsel, and assist in resolving job related concerns.
  • Administer various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures as needed.
  • Identify, develop, and recommend enhancements that meet strategic objectives of the department in areas such as performance management, diversity & inclusion training, remote worker initiatives, etc. Upon approval, responsible for developing effective communication plan and carrying out through organization.
  • Develop positive working relationships with department managers and employees to help both parties with concerns related to performance, disciplinary action, or other related employee relations issues.
  • Meet with employees to conduct new hire check-ins and exit interviews. Provide related feedback to management and the human resources department to improve the employee experience.
  • Manage, record, and track all relevant documentation related to employee performance and disciplinary action while assuring conformance to policy and consistency of practice.
  • Perform internal complaint investigation in accordance with our internal procedures.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive base salary of $83,680 - 117,152 annually depending on experience. This range reflects the entire salary range for the position. Most candidates can expect to receive an offer with an annual salary within 35-60% of the identified range for their respective position.
  • Potential to earn additional compensation through our profit-sharing bonus program. This position qualifies for the Employee tier of the program with semi-annual payouts, each payment totaling between 0-5% of annual salary.
