JOB SUMMARY

The Development Director reports to and is in partnership with the Head of Schools with support from the Principals.

The Director will oversee a comprehensive fund-raising program, including the execution of the foundation relations.

The Director will also work on the creation and implementation of a strategic marketing plan. The Director will also oversee the alumni relations program for former Downtown Doral Charter School students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and implement a strategic fundraising plan for Downtown Doral Charter Schools

• Plan and administer the department's annual operating budget

• Plan, develop and execute strategies for obtaining donations

• Supervising systematic efforts to identify, solicit, steward, maintain and upgrade annual giving donors

• Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects (individuals, corporations, and foundations)

• Provide stewardship in the encouragement and recognition of donor philanthropy

• Oversee, manage and/or plan advancement events

• Provide for on-going promotion of planned giving opportunities

• Manage annual and special campaigns, corporate and foundation support, major and planned giving

• Provide leadership for all external relationship building with a variety of constituencies; assist academic leadership in non-duplicative efforts to identify sources and prepare proposals to private donors, corporations, foundations, and other granting agencies

• Carry out a communication plan for activities that support relationships between the school and its external constituents (i.e., trustees, alumni, alumni parent, parents, donors, and friends) which support private giving to the school

• Create and implement a strategic marketing plan for Downtown Doral Charter Schools

• Create and implement a strategic fundraising plan for international families

• Gather documentation and fulfill the necessary requirements of various funding bodies to formally seek funding through grants on behalf of the school

• Performs other related duties as required

CANDIDATE CHARACTERISTICS

• Possesses excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Will take a professional willingness to communicate with parents and community stakeholders

• Positive interpersonal skills and can work well on a team

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree

• Responsible fundraising experience, including major gift ($25,000 and above) fundraising experience

• Demonstrated success and evidence of ability to plan and execute a fund drive

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Demonstrated supervision of professional level staff with leadership, management, and administrative skills that motivate and build professional support staff competencies

• Strong communication skills including ability to write and speak persuasively about the institution

• Willingness to work evenings and weekends, to travel, and have a valid driver’s license

• Willingness to fully integrate into the Downtown Doral Charter School’s culture

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
