Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a semiconductor R&D or manufacturing environment, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 3 years of experience in defect characterization, metrology, and image analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6 years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience in commercial or custom materials characterization and defectivity tools, and implementation strategy working with external and internal partners.
  • Experience in test techniques for evaluating performance of semiconductor processes, defect failure analysis, and resolution.
  • Experience in data analysis tools and methodology.
  • Familiarity with device design and process development of optoelectronic devices.

About the job

Develop and drive the metrology tool roadmap for defectivity and uniformity detection and quantification in micro LED processing. Program and deploy inline tools for sensitive defect and nonuniformity detection in Gallium Nitride (GaN) on Si microLED arrays for AR applications. Identify and provision the required image analysis software for defect metrology. Innovate in developing novel defect characterization tools and techniques as needed.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$219,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the metrology tool roadmap for materials characterization, defectivity, and uniformity detection and quantification in microLED processing.
  • Identify, develop, and deploy defectivity and uniformity characterization tools and methodology in the manufacturing flow.
  • Collaborate with the Test and Software teams to customize and automate the characterization data collection.
  • Develop image analysis software to detect and analyze uniformity and defectivity of microLED arrays.
  • Work with the yield analysis teams to continually improve the tool capability and identify yield trends on microLED displays. Analyze and identify the origin of yield limiting defects in the line and work closely with cross-functional teams on root cause and corrective actions to enhance yield.
