We are looking for a Weekend Crisis Counselor for the J Reuben Long Detention Center.

What You'll Do:

• Work part time on weekends, providing crisis stabilization to inmate patients in a local jail with an average daily population of 750-850 inmates
• Make rounds in intake and housing units to check on patients’ needs and overall wellbeing
• Serve the challenging forensic population of all cultural, spiritual, and economic backgrounds
• Collaborate with excellent nursing and security staff support
• Document encounters in the Electronic Medical Record
• Share liability for patient care and ensure patient needs are met
• Receive orientation, training, and oversight by the Corporate Mental Health Director
• Other duties as assigned

What We Require:

• Master’s Degree in a Behavioral/Social Science Field from an Accredited College or University
• Five years of experience working with persons with mental illness and addiction preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Criminal background check, security clearance, and drug screening
