Primary Manager: Cosmetics Sales Manager/ Counter Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education Level: High School or High School Equivalency
  • Minimum Years of Experience: Minimum 6 months of selling experience
  • Required Language Proficiency: English

POSITION SUMMARY
The Dillard’s Beauty Advisor represents the superior customer service that Dillard’s is known for. They uphold the friendly, welcoming image of the retailer and showcase products, artistry and culture of the company.
Their primary responsibility is to achieve optimal sales performance and uphold the expectation of the service model and the service behaviors. They are responsible for building their personal business and clientele, inspiring loyalty to the retailer and driving trial and repeat business through sales and services in beauty and fragrance.

ADDITIONAL JOB EXPECTATIONS

  • Minimum 6 months retail experience; Cosmetic experience preferred.
  • Selling experience in a retail environment with proven sales track record.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Ability to assess customer needs and make recommendations. Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to use a calculator.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to be flexible and handle change in a positive manner.
  • Ability to stand throughout the shift as needed.
  • Ability to lift at least 30lbs.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching and some climbing.
  • Some unpacking and packing of materials are required when restocking the floor supplies.
  • There may be moving and setting up of displays and other events taking place.

  • Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team and must have good time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Attend Dillard’s training sessions and partnered brand mandatory training sessions – and proactively implement learnings to deliver sales.
  • Be proficient in point of sale systems.
  • Welcome feedback, modify and adapt behavior to best serve the consumer and utilize customer tools to stay informed.
  • Adhere to proper security procedures regarding handling of cash and assets.
  • Follow Dillard’s policies regarding customer service expectations, image and dress code and professional standards.

SERVICE AND SELLING

  • Greet customer with name introduction immediately upon customer’s arrival, to begin engaging and thoughtful connection.
  • Own and achieve individual sales goals and contribute to team sales goals through understanding individual and team.

SERVICE SKILLS

  • Build trust and rapport with customer through open-ended questions and authentic curiosity in their needs, with effective verbal interaction and validation.
  • Share excitement and knowledge; demonstrate, recommend and show products to deliver the sale.
  • Read customer cues; collaborate to provide recommendations through product knowledge, explaining product benefits and potential application techniques, and exceeding customer needs by personalizing and customizing their experience.
  • Demo-driven: ability to demonstrate product quickly and expediently to showcase product usage and benefits.
  • Sample products as applicable to drive loyalty and repeat business.
  • Agility to serve multiple customers at peak times, without compromising their experience.
  • Ability to build a long-term relationship with the customer ultimately leading to trial and repeat purchase, retention and loyalty.
  • Leverage Clienteling/Customer Relationship Management (C@D) tools to capture customer profile and utilize C@D every day to connect with customers for outreach, replenishment and to drive sales.
  • Stay current on beauty industry trends and competitive landscape to validate customers’ interests and purchases, better personalize recommendations to their needs.

MAINTAINING WORK ENVIROMENT

  • Maintain all demonstration Hygiene protocols and standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area including cleaning displayer units, tools, and testers throughout the day.
  • Maintain proper placement and condition of merchandise on counter, in stock room and maintained areas.
  • Inform management of any store maintenance issues.
  • Inform management of any Health and Safety issues which might lead to accidents.

ASSIST IN INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Assist in stocking of all counter supplies and inventory daily as required, with focus on areas of responsibility.
  • Assist in merchandising and re-stocking all products on the floor in showcases and cabinets every morning and as needed throughout the day.
  • Promptly communicate low on stock, out of stocks to your manager.

BONUS POTENTIAL

  • When Beauty Advisor’s PERSONAL monthly Selling Goal is met, Beauty Advisor will receive a monthly bonus.
  • Beauty Advisor is eligible for gratis.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
