Opportunity Description: The Corporate Controller is a full time, salaried, exempt position which is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the Company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices. The Controller reports to the VP of Operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Display and promote company values
  • Oversee as well as perform daily accounting activities, functions, reporting
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance
  • Participate in the development of the Company's plans and programs as a strategic partner
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends to assist the CEO, VP of Operations, Director of Sales, and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Company’s annual third-party audits and tax analysis
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Company
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges
  • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline
  • Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets
  • Represent the Finance department in company meetings, board calls, departmental meetings, and offsite planning events
  • Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position
  • Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism which includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs
  • Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Company may enter
  • Oversight of and commitment to continual improvement as well as professional and personal growth
  • Firm understanding and compliance with company's Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Represent the company to appropriate taxing jurisdictions
  • Act as liaison with all financial relationships and with the Board of Directors or anywhere financial representation is required by stakeholders and provide related reporting
  • Other duties as assigned, including transactional accounting duties in the absence of additional accounting personnel

    • Knowledge of Epicor P21 helpful but not required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will supervise the Staff Accountant, as well as any future accounting hires or interns.


TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual will help coordinate any necessary trainings for existing or new employees. This individual will lead trainings for department heads as needed.


TRAVEL

Travel is not a requirement in this position, but may be a possibility for training or leadership development.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Finance or relatable field required
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and / or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • A minimum of 5+ years/ of experience in a relatable field required
  • Experience with ERP software preferred
  • Experience in contract negotiation preferred
  • Experience with business process improvement teams and initiative required
  • Experience with quoting projects, product cost analysis and ROI analysis required
  • Knowledge of databases and ability to create reports preferred
  • Knowledge of functional business processes required
  • Understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws required
