We are hiring Concrete Finishers who will smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, and/or curbs to specified textures by applying coats of plaster to interior walls, and ceilings, as well as to partitions of buildings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(Other duties may be assigned.)

• Signals concrete deliverer and moves discharge chute of the truck to direct concrete into forms.

• Spread concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with a concrete rake or shovel.

• Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, with handheld screed, Vibra screed, and bull float.

• Smoothes and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete with a magnesium float.

• Finishes concrete surfaces, or wets and rubs concrete faces with abrasive stone and/or sponge to an acceptable finish.

• Hand finish walks, curbs, and exterior and interior slabs.

• Operates power trawler.

• Molds expansion joints and edges.

• Adjust subgrade work and setting of forms (prep work).

• Mix plaster to desired consistency and erect scaffolding.

• Spread plaster over lath or masonry base, and smoothes plaster to attain uniform thickness.

• Completes necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Pennsylvania Drivers License and own transportation.

• High School Graduate or GED, and a minimum of two years experience.

• Fluent English

• High school level – basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

• Basic problem-solving skills are necessary to bring a job to completion.

• Concrete tools – trowel, mag float, margin trowel, boots, claw hammer, tape measure, small sledgehammer to be provided by the employee.

• Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, knee pads, hard hats, and all power tools, shovels, etc. provided by Bertolet Construction LLC.

• Able to stand, sit, walk, lift up to 80lbs, push up to 200lbs, pull up to 20lbs, climb 5', and bend frequently.

This position requires forming, pouring, and laboring.
