Composite Machine Operator - 2nd Shift
Job Description
DWM Holdings is looking to fill a 2nd shift Composite Machine Operator position at our Mount Clemens facility. This person reports directly to the Design & Specifications Manager and works closely with the Design & Specifications team and Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities (dependent upon skill level):
  • Perform and train on filament winding machines and operations
  • Documentation of required quality measurements and metrics
  • Conduct composite pole manufacturing activities, including setup, resin mixing, winding, curing, and post-wind operations
  • Provide input to engineers/management with respect to needed or recommended changes on wind patterns
  • Train and form all work per engineering drawings, as well as both written and verbal instructions from management
  • Perform product inspection and rework as required
  • Assemble and prepare products for on-time shipment to meet or exceed customer specifications
  • Responsible for the daily cleaning of all tools and equipment
  • Follow all documented procedures and work orders
  • Load and unload materials onto or from vehicles, pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by crane, forklift or by hand
  • Receive material into facility and confirms materials against invoices to verify accuracy of the delivery; assist in inventory management
Skills and Competencies:
  • Experience using standard mechanical measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, barcol reader, gauges, etc.)
  • Ability to work on a PC and with Microsoft suite of products
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions on calibration
  • Ability to review detailed assembly drawings for final assembly of hardware
  • Ability to use custom tooling, fixtures, and equipment
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, meet aggressive schedules, operate, and understand engineering drawings
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal-communication and team-participation skills a must
  • Ability to remain self-motivated and focused on forecasting the next step in production material needs
  • Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner
Qualifications:
  • Highschool diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment setting up, running, and operating machinery
Shift: Monday - Friday (5:15PM - 1:45AM/3:30AM *depending on workload), Saturday (1PM - 7:30PM)
*shift premium $1.25
