JOB SUMMARY:

Overall purpose and objective of this job is to work closely with all members of the Office of General Counsel, as well as management of other business units within the Firm. This role is designed to help ensure that McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce adheres to appropriate processes and methods to effectively comply with applicable Federal and State regulations, client overarching directives and requirements and Firmwide policies and procedures, thereby reducing the Firm’s risk and exposure to potential losses. To accomplish these objectives, the Compliance Analyst will assist the Assistant General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel with designated tasks as assigned. Additional responsibilities include those as listed below.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Assistant General Counsel with the documentation and escalation of borrower complaints, including monthly log reports and emails.
  • Assist with conducting monthly onboarding and annual Compliance trainings.
  • Assist with updates to various client-facing documents including Firm Escalation Matrices, Bar Validations and Good Standings, Attorney and Non-Attorney Lists and/or other documents as assigned.
  • Assist with the management and tracking of the Firm’s Notary List and Certifications.
  • Assist with vendor onboarding and annual vetting, including vendor audits, in conjunction with the Assistant General Counsel.
  • Assist with appearance and local counsel onboarding and annual vetting, including appearance and local counsel audits, scorecards and Performance Improvement Plan tracking, in conjunction with the Assistant General Counsel.
  • Assist and track Firm Secretary of State Registrations, Supreme Court and State Bar Law Firm Licenses, County Licenses and City Licenses under the direct supervision and in conjunction with the Deputy General Counsel and the Assistant General Counsel.
  • Assist the Assistant General Counsel with completing client Compliance questionnaires and requests for information, which would include collaboration with other business units.
  • Assist with client audits, including corresponding remediation.
  • Assist with monitoring upcoming regulatory changes, including local, state and federal.
  • Draft and update Firmwide policies and procedures under the direct supervision of the Assistant General Counsel.
  • Provide additional administrative support as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Must possess good communication skills, written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to work independently and keep on task.
  • Ability to adapt and complete sometimes complicated tasks with short deadlines including those as delegated by the Firm’s Assistant General Counsel.
  • Ability to work professionally with executive management level customers and other office personnel in person, by email and by telephone in sometimes stressful situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with good organizational skills.
  • Overall good attitude and willingness to adapt to change while balancing team and individual responsibilities in order to contribute to building a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness by identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner, analyzing information skillfully to improve and promote quality processes and procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Moderate lifting may be required- Computers, printers, and related devices weighing up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
