Location: Loveland, CO

Salary range: $58,300 to $77,800 (Depends on Experience)

Position Summary

In this role you will be working with the engineering community at Lightning eMotors to create 2D and 3D models as well as prints utilizing Creo Parametric solid modeling software. Experience designing with sheet metal, plastics and machined components is necessary. Strong spatial reasoning and knowledge/application of GD&T is required.

Responsibilities

  • Design parts utilizing Creo 3D modeling software
  • Develop 2D prints from models that are fully dimensioned utilizing GD&T standards
  • Perform component assembly dimensional tolerance stack-up calculations
  • Interface with operations (fabrication & assembly), along with vendors, to optimize component design to reflect internal/external capabilities and applicable standards
  • Other duties as assigned

What we require:

  • Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting; Or equivalent work experience in a directly related role.
  • 2+ years of experience operating within a 3D modeling software – Creo preferred
  • Confidently navigate within MS 365 – SharePoint, Teams, and the major MS applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented communicative collaborator

What we prefer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • 5+ years of experience operating within a 3D modeling software
  • Creo Professional Certification
  • ASME GD&T Certification
  • Automotive or Commercial Vehicle experience desired
  • Experience in Electric Vehicles highly desired
  • Experience with fabrication, welding, power electronics and system integration
  • Experience within a manufacturing/production environment
