THE COMPANY

Restoration Parts Unlimited, Inc. (“RPUI”), is a Dubin Clark & NorthStar Capital investment platform company in the Automotive Aftermarket (Classic Car Restoration, Performance and Modification) segment which owns five restoration brands supplying parts and accessories to wholesale dealers and consumers.

The Company consists of five independent operating companies/businesses who operate in factories located in/near the following locations:

  • Parts Unlimited Inc. (“PUI”) La Grange, KY (north of Louisville, KY)
  • Trim Parts Lebanon, OH (northeast of Cincinnati)
  • SoffSeal Lebanon, OH (northeast of Cincinnati)
  • The Right Stuff Detailing Westerville, OH (northeast of Columbus, OH)
  • First Place Auto Parts Lebanon, OH (northeast of Cincinnati)

The objective of RPUI is to provide a “best-in-industry operating model”, develop and manufacture automotive restoration products, coupled with outstanding service to our customers with profitable growth and excellent return on investments.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

As a Buyer, you will support the following: major supply chain initiatives, sourcing decision making, as well as working closely with the reporting manager in identifying key action plans that impact overall company performance. The candidate will report directly to the Global Supply Chain Manager.

This position will be located at Parts Unlimited Inc. La Grange, Kentucky. This position will be onsite and only support the Parts Unlimited Inc. brand.

The ideal candidate will have excellent Excel skills, strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, ability to think strategically, excellent problem-solving capabilities, communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create and send purchase orders to suppliers and manage Ocean shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Use company ERP to Manage inventory items and ensure adequate supply for production without the need for premium/expedited freight.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead time, quality targets, on-time delivery targets and delivery terms with suppliers, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the suppliers and Product department to ensure suppliers meet product specifications.
  • Provide support to direct supervisor in establishing forecasts, data models, etc.
  • Responsible for accuracy of material and supplier data in ERP system.
  • Track purchase orders as needed to confirm complete & timely delivery. Intervene, expedite &/or communicate as needed. Communicate internally if product delivery expectations will not be met for assigned items.
  • Continuously develop skills and knowledge in supply chain management profession.
  • Work closely with Product Team to support new item creation, first article approvals, and part revisions.
  • Monitor and provide clear communications to suppliers as to the business requirements and expectations for delivery, quality, customer support, and continuous improvement.
  • Be influential and persuasive, especially in dealing with suppliers, to ensure that commitments are met and that our orders are prioritized appropriately.
  • Anticipate problems and develop counter measures to eliminate similar situations in the future.
  • Other supply chain related responsibilities and duties as needed

  • 3-4 years of Supply Chain and experience in a distribution or Manufacturing environment.
  • Industry experience in high mix, low volume, large SKU count businesses.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
