Summary

United Language Group looking for a dedicated Healthcare Virtual Navigator to help provide education and enrollment support for health plans for the Federal Exchange for the state of North Carolina. This role will be focused on supporting the local community, with an emphasis on the Latino population, to promote greater health equity. The Virtual Navigator will provide call center support for all inbound callers seeking to gain a further understanding of their available options to enroll in health plans listed in the Federal Exchange, provide assistance in navigating the enrollment process and support potential members in choosing the best plans for their needs. The Navigator’s role is to help the general population by educating and facilitating healthcare enrollment for people who need health insurance.

The bilingual Navigator will provide information and assistance in both English and Spanish to ensure language and cultural support is accessible to the greatest number of people within the state of North Carolina. Additionally, United Language Group will offer interpretation services to support all language access needs to promote health equity for all limited English proficiency populations. The Navigator will assist in bridging all communications by working with interpreters when needed. A successful candidate should be well versed in the healthcare system and will be required to complete training and the government Navigator certification.

Essential Duties + Responsibilities

  • Obtain Navigator certification and successfully complete training on health plan options, healthcare support and promote healthcare advantages to potential members within the targeted community
  • Assist callers who need help navigating the Federal Exchange and provide education and support for enrollment of government approved plans to ensure people choose the best plans for their needs
  • Track engagement and drive health equity by supporting populations who have limited English proficiency
  • Engage potential members in both English and Spanish based on needs and preference
  • Other duties as may be reasonably requested.

Education, Experience + Skills

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Active member of the Latino community
  • Associates Degree preferred or relevant professional working experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare or customer service
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to offer personable and supportive in-person communication
  • Organized decision-maker with the ability to work independently and in teams
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and database programs)
